Hi there! Many compliments for your work. Is it possible to have a little customization for Gallery Slideshow? It's about the design of the controller, I'will send you a layout and the ai file. Obviously I'll pay for that! Tnx a lot.

We're a brand new news Web site and would love to install your slideshow plug-in. But when I tried to install it, I got a warning message that it had not yet been tested on WP 2.8. Any idea when it will be?

Hi,
Very new in the Plugin arena. I loved this ug in, but I can't get it to do what I want. I was able to make it work but since I have only one image on my gallery it keeps showing the same pic. I need it to show a Picassa album. How can I do that?

This is the code I have now:

[slide id="1" with="123" height="345" backcolor="#222222" frontcolor="c0c0c0" lightcolor="#f2f2f2" screencolor="#ffffff" logo="http://example.org/full/url/to/image.jpg" rotationtime="20" transition="random" shuffle="true" overstretch="false" shownavigation="true" usefullscreen="true" autostart="true"]

It's the sample from the website. If possible, can you show me how to add music too?

Thanks!
George

Tanx keyboardkowboy !

I understand I have to first create a post wich contain the gallery. But what if, at the end, I want those pictures to feed a slide into a specific page of my site, not the actual post ? I tought the ID was precisely usefull to link the content of the post into that page and that my problem was related to the insertion of the function below :

if ( function_exists( 'show_slideshow' ) ) {
show_slideshow( "OPTIONS" );
}

What about instead of the fullscreen option to have something like a lightbox view full size images? Maybe so that if you have lightbox installed for standard image posts it will work on the slider as well? Could be cool but not sure if it is possible.

Don't insert the gallery into the post! It seems to feed the images uploaded, but not inserted into the post. So don't insert the individual images or the gallery. Once all have been uploaded via the post, simply close the window, go backl to your post text and type in [slide]
Hope that helps!

Took me a while to figure this out too. You don't need an ID. This is what you need to do:

1. Create a new post
2. Upload images while in the post, but don't insert into the post.
3. Make sure that you can see the Gallery option in the pop up window while uploading the images - should display something like: Gallery (11) for eleven images.
4. Once all images have been uploaded close the upload box and go into your post.
5. enter [slide] in your post where you want it to display.
6. You have variables available as well, unfortunately I don't know what each option is for the variables.

eg:

[ slide with="600" height="345" backcolor="#222222" fontcolor="c0c0c0" lightcolor="#f2f2f2" screencolor="#ffffff" logo="http://example.org/full/url/to/image.jpg" rotationtime="20" transition="random" shuffle="true" overstretch="false" shownavigation="true" usefullscreen="true" autostart="true" ]

No spaces after and before the [] brackets.

I get validation errors because my doctype doesn't allow nested style elements in the body section.

I don't really want to change my doctype.

Can the css style information be moved to the header, or is there a way of removing it from the body and placing it in my own stylesheet?

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Tollboy,

that's not possible and wouldn't be a good idea either because there are still some visitors out there without having a flash player installed. You should try to find a slideshow plugin which uses js that's more userfriendly and will support links like a charm. I don't know if something equal is there somewhere but in the next version of our plugin it will have this support. It still needs some time till we have a big enought time frame to update it.

Regards MyPlugins.org Team

Fantastic plug-in, it really looks great and is very easy to use.
I was wondering though, if it is possible to have each slide to link to different urls? I would like to have a gallery appear at the top of the front page and each slide is a preview of other areas on the site. That way it would act as a shortcut to other areas of the site. Is this at all possible with this plug-in?

A gallery and a slideshow are two different things. You can create a slideshow if you have pictures in a gallery, because this gallery is used to get the pictures from. That means that this plugin extends/upgrades the built in gallery of wordpress.

I've followed all the directions, but still getting the view of the standard WP gallery.

Thank you! I actually spent a long time in that location trying to figure it out but never could. For the benefit of those who might view this post with the same question... once in the gallery, to the right of the pic you want removed... you will see the word "show". Click on "show... it will change to "hide". Once you have don that, then right under the different size choices are the words "insert" and "delete". Wahlah! I cant believe it took me forever to find that one little word that does the trick! Thanks Admin!

Yes! Deleting the [gallery] tab works! Thanks!
However, if you want to edit the gallery again, you will need to re-enter this tab to make the gallery visible again in the editor window.

I'd love to embed Picasa images like in the demo, but all I get is a black box. I tried to deduce the proper shortcode from the description but I may well have missed something

[slide Picasa=http://picasaweb.google.com.au/restofURL]

is this the correct shortcode? If not, what is it?

Good looking thing! To bad its useless for my situation now... Website is build for a computer-"noob" so using tags in stead of a button or option is not useful....

Hi mortydot,

this plugin doesn't replace the WordPress gallery, it extends the gallery by a slideshow.

*insert new gallery with uploaded images (link thumbnails to attachment page)

Don't insert a new gallery! Just write
[slide]
on the place where you want the slideshow to appear.

Regards Thomas

Hi Michiel,

you usually can just delete the [gallery] tag because you wont need it. I think that happens because you added the gallery by clicking the gallery tab.

Regards Thomas
